Dr. Tatiana Bukina 

Tatiana Bukina is a senior researcher at the Russian Institute for Art History in Saint Petersburg (since 2025) and Professor of Music at the Vaganova Ballet Academy (since 2014).

 

She graduated from Petrozavodsk State Conservatory in 2002 with a degree in musicology and later earned her PhD (2005) and Doctor Habilitatus in Arts (2012) from A.I. Herzen State Pedagogical University in Saint Petersburg.

 

Her scholarly interests focus on the history and sociology of music, as well as the history and methodology of musicological research in Russia. Tatiana Bukina is the author of over 100 academic publications, including three monographs, and has participated in more than 80 international and national conferences.

 

Alongside her academic work, she is an active public lecturer, collaborating with institutions such as the St. Petersburg State Philharmonic (within the Open Philharmonic project) and the Saint Petersburg Wagnerian Society. She has also taken part as a lecturer in public educational initiatives, including “Images and Prototypes: Culture & Fashion Class” (2015).
